Question 1

Do I need to enter a credit card for the free trial?

Accepted Answer

No. The 30 free days are on the Base plan and need no payment method. You add a card when you choose a paid plan, or to try PRO: 14 days free the first time, with your card entered when you start it. Cancel within the 14 days and you pay nothing.

Question 2

What happens at the end of the trial?

Accepted Answer

If you don't choose a plan, the dashboard locks: instead of your pages you see the plan choice. Your data stays saved (customers, bookings, activities, sessions, team), and from that screen you export bookings and customers to CSV in one click. Choose a plan whenever you like and you pick up where you left off.

Question 3

Do I have to re-enter the schedule I already have?

Accepted Answer

No, we load it for you, on any plan. Send it the way you keep it now (a spreadsheet, your phone calendar, or just the times you know by heart) and we bring it into the platform. The import comes with an onboarding call where we set up the dashboard together. Both are included, for everyone.

Question 4

How long does it take to get going?

Accepted Answer

Under an hour for the basics: create the account, add your activities and first slots, invite the team. For the whole season you describe your typical week and Sealect creates the slots, up to the date you pick. And if you already have a schedule, we load it for you.

Question 5

Does it work for sports other than surfing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Sealect is built for any water sport: surf, scuba, windsurf, kitesurf, sailing, kayak, SUP, wakeboard. If it's in the water, it works.

Question 6

Does it work on mobile?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The dashboard is fully responsive: manage bookings, check the calendar and mark no-shows directly from your phone, even between lessons.

Question 7

Do my customers need to download an app?

Accepted Answer

Never. Everything happens in the browser, both on computer and phone. No installs, no complicated registrations for the customer.

Question 8

Which languages is it available in?

Accepted Answer

Italian, English and Spanish. Everyone on the team picks the language they see the dashboard in, and emails to customers go out in one of those three languages.

Question 9

Can I record bookings taken by phone or at the desk?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on any plan. Add the booking by hand, from a computer or a phone, and record the payment in cash or by bank transfer. If you leave the customer's email, we send them the confirmation and the reminders, just like someone who books online.

Question 10

Do customers get confirmations and reminders?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we send them by email: the confirmation as soon as they book, a reminder 24 hours before and another 2 hours before. If you cancel a booking, we tell them. There are no text messages yet: they are on the roadmap.

Question 11

Can I see my sessions in Google Calendar, Apple Calendar or Outlook?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on every plan. In the dashboard you copy a private link and add it to your calendar once: from then on sessions and bookings update by themselves (Apple and Outlook about every hour, Google on its own schedule, sometimes up to a day). Admins get the whole organisation's calendar, each instructor the sessions assigned to them. Customer names appear only to those allowed to see them, and never a phone number or email. If the link ends up where it shouldn't, you generate a new one and the old one stops working. Customers can add their booking to their own calendar from the confirmation, or subscribe to all their bookings from their profile.

Question 12

How do I check customers in?

Accepted Answer

From your phone: scan the QR code the customer finds in their online booking confirmation, or open the booking in the dashboard, and check them in with one tap. If there is still a balance to collect, you record it there. You keep a log of who showed up, on any plan.

Question 13

Can I set different cancellation rules for each activity?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and it's one of Sealect's strengths. For each offer you can configure a free cancellation window (e.g. up to 24 hours before), a partial refund percentage beyond that window (e.g. 50% up to 4 hours before) and a no-show fee. Refunds are calculated and applied automatically, just click 'cancel'.

Question 14

What happens if a customer doesn't show up?

Accepted Answer

You mark them as 'no-show' with one click. If you've set a no-show fee on the offer, it's applied automatically to the refund. And you have the history: in the customer CRM you immediately see who the regular no-shows are, how much they've spent, how many times they've come.

Question 15

How do I receive online booking payments?

Accepted Answer

Directly to your account, via Stripe Connect. Connect Stripe in a few minutes from the dashboard (requires PRO plan and approved account verification) and from that moment every online booking lands in your account automatically, on the schedule you set in Stripe. No middleman, no waiting.

Question 16

How does the online booking commission work?

Accepted Answer

It only applies to bookings paid online through Sealect, not to manual bookings (phone, walk-in, partner). Rates vary by plan: PRO 2.5%, Enterprise 0.5% (lowest commission, designed for high online volume), Custom negotiated. Payments land directly in your Stripe account; we automatically deduct our share. On PRO you can confirm up to 10 bookings a month that a coupon brings down to zero (no online payment, so no commission); from the 11th on, the coupon has to leave something to pay. Enterprise has no such limit.

Question 17

Are Stripe's fees included?

Accepted Answer

No, they are separate. Stripe charges them on your account for every card payment, as it does for anyone who uses it, and Sealect's commission comes on top. Bookings you collect at the desk, in cash or by bank transfer, carry no commission.

Question 18

Can I sell extras and rentals with my lessons?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Extras, like a wetsuit rental or an underwater photo, are attached to your offers, per person or per booking. For equipment there is the rental desk: load your stock once, and lessons and rentals draw from the same pile, so you never sell the same wetsuit twice. With the PRO plan rentals sell online too, and the customer picks the equipment.

Question 19

Can I offer discounts with coupons and promo codes?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with the PRO plan: create coupons in the dashboard and customers use them when they book online. You can also give a personal coupon to a single customer. On PRO, up to 10 bookings a month can be brought to zero by a coupon; on Enterprise there is no limit.

Question 20

Can I sell lesson carnets?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on any plan. You choose how many lessons, which offerings they cover and whether they expire, then sell them at the desk, even to people who have never booked with you. On the PRO plan you sell them online too, and the customer can pay just a deposit if you want. When a customer books online, the lesson comes off the carnet by itself; at the desk the carnet is already picked in the booking. If the carnet expires, we remind the customer of the lessons left a week before.

Question 21

What happens to the unused lessons on a carnet?

Accepted Answer

You decide when it expires: a number of days after purchase, on a fixed date (the end of the season, say) or never. A week before it expires we remind the customer how many lessons they have left, and if needed you extend the carnet. If the customer asks for the unused lessons back, the refund follows the cancellation policy of the offer you choose for that carnet.

Question 22

Can I run courses of several lessons, with enrolments and attendance?

Accepted Answer

Yes, in early access: for now we switch courses on ourselves, on request. You create the course with its dates, enrol people at the desk or, on the PRO plan, let them enrol online. A parent can enrol a child: whoever pays and whoever attends sit on the same customer record. You take attendance from your phone, and you can offer a trial lesson. If you'd like to try them, write to us.

Question 23

How do I take attendance on a course?

Accepted Answer

From your phone, lesson by lesson: mark everyone present with one tap, then correct only who is missing. If a course requires a medical certificate, each participant's expiry date is on record, and someone without a valid one can only be marked present with a reason.

Question 24

How do make-up lessons work?

Accepted Answer

You set the rule for each course: no make-ups, only for excused absences, or for every absence, with a cap per student if you want. Whoever is owed one makes it up on another lesson of the same course, or of an identical group, wherever there's a free seat, before the course ends plus the days you allow. If you cancel a lesson yourself, everyone gets a make-up. You book it at the desk, or the customer books it from their course link, if you let them.

Question 25

Can I cancel anytime?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with no lock-in and no penalties. Cancel in one click from the dashboard: you keep using Sealect normally until the end of the period you've paid for (month or year). Then the dashboard locks, as at the end of the trial: your data stays, and you export bookings and customers in one click. When you want to come back, choose a plan and carry on.

Question 26

What happens if I switch plans?

Accepted Answer

Switch plans whenever you like from the dashboard: Base, PRO, Enterprise. The first time you move to PRO you get 14 days free (with a card): they start the day you switch and replace whatever is left of your Base trial. When you move between plans we automatically credit the difference for the period you've already paid. Custom is handled by the team case by case.

Question 27

How much do I save paying for a year?

Accepted Answer

Two months: with annual billing you pay for ten months instead of twelve. Base is €390 a year, PRO €690, Enterprise €2,990. The commission on online bookings stays the same.

Question 28

How many activities and people can I have?

Accepted Answer

On Base up to 5 activity types, with unlimited offers, and up to 5 people on the team. On PRO activities are unlimited and the team goes up to 15 people, on Enterprise to 50. If you need even more, there is the Custom plan.

Question 29

When does the Enterprise plan make sense?

Accepted Answer

Enterprise is right when online booking is your primary channel. The break-even with PRO is around €11,500/month in online payments: above that threshold, Enterprise's 0.5% costs less than PRO's 2.5% even with the higher subscription. It also includes Premium badge, featured listing in Sealect carousels, a dedicated contact and a quarterly business review. Try the calculator to find your exact break-even.

Question 30

What's the Custom plan and when do I need it?

Accepted Answer

Custom is for multi-brand, multi-site groups, regional federations, white-label resellers, institutional partners, or setups with specific needs: API access, dedicated domain, custom SLA, tailored contract. No self-service: we talk, understand the constraints, and propose a setup that actually works. Reach out via the contact form.

Question 31

What support do I get?

Accepted Answer

On every plan you write to us by email or open a ticket from the dashboard, and the onboarding call with the calendar import is included. On PRO your requests get high priority, with an answer within one business day. On Enterprise they are urgent, with an answer within 4 business hours, and you have a dedicated contact with a quarterly review of your numbers.

Question 32

Does my team only see what they need?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Each team member joins with a role, Owner, Admin or Staff, which is their starting point: Staff handle bookings, check-in and customers; Admins also activities, sessions and the team; the Owner everything, the subscription included. Then, person by person, you can add or remove single permissions: let an instructor manage sessions, say, or hide the takings from an admin. The Owner edits admins and staff, an admin edits staff only, and nobody edits their own permissions. The ones about money (refunds, takings, exports) only the Owner changes, and a few things stay tied to the role, like the subscription and managing the team.

Question 33

Can I assign instructors to slots?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Assign instructors to slots, and each one sees their own, from their phone too. Every morning the board tells you who is on the water, at what time and with which instructor, and if an absence leaves a slot uncovered you see it straight away.

Question 34

Can I manage several locations or organisations with one account?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with no limit. One account can own as many schools, centres, clubs or associations as you like: each has its own plan (Base, PRO or Enterprise), team, calendar, bookings and data, fully separate. You switch between them from the dashboard in one click. A typical setup: a main location on PRO, listed on sealect.app and taking payments online, and smaller ones on Base, run with the same dashboard but without a public listing.

Question 35

Can customers book from my own website?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with the PRO plan: put the booking widget on your site, with your colours and corners, and customers book and pay right there. On Enterprise the widget also comes without the Sealect mark.

Question 36

Can I take bookings only from my site, without appearing on Sealect?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if you use the widget: take your page off sealect.app and customers book only from your site. You need at least one site authorised for the widget, so anyone who wants to book always has somewhere to do it.

Question 37

What is the public profile on Sealect?

Accepted Answer

It is your page on sealect.app, where people looking for an experience on the water find you, see your offers and book with online payment. It comes with the PRO plan and goes live once your account is verified and Stripe is connected. On Enterprise you are also featured in Sealect's carousels, with the Premium badge.

Question 38

How do reviews work?

Accepted Answer

With the PRO plan, the day after the trip we ask the customer how it went. Reviews appear on your public profile and you can reply to each one, publicly.

Question 39

Can I see my real numbers, how much I'm earning and what sells most?

Accepted Answer

Yes, on Base too: the Numbers section shows revenue, bookings, best-selling offers, completion and cancellation rates over the last 7 and 30 days. With the PRO plan you unlock longer windows (90 days and a custom period), filters by activity or single offer, and the monthly email report with how full your sessions were. You know how much you're making, from what, and when.

Question 40

Do I get a summary of the day?

Accepted Answer

Yes, every evening at 7pm, in your location's time, on any plan: the day's takings and attendance, and who is booked tomorrow. With the PRO plan you also get the monthly report by email.

Question 41

Can I trust the sea-weather score if data is missing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, because we tell you when that happens. When a safety check can't run (missing data, a source that's unavailable), it's shown as exactly that, kept visibly separate from a check that ran and passed. A forecast further out is flagged as less reliable. The score supports your call, it doesn't replace it: the final confirmation is always yours. See how the score works, limits included.

Question 42

What does the active watch on slots do?

Accepted Answer

It is included in Enterprise. On slots that are already booked we keep checking the conditions: if they get worse we warn you and suggest alternative slots. The decision to confirm or move stays yours.

Question 43

Is my data safe? And what if I want to delete my account?

Accepted Answer

We handle your data under the GDPR. You export bookings and customers to CSV (on PRO, or from the lock screen if you stop paying), download your profile data from your account, and can ask for your account to be deleted completely whenever you want. It's your data, and you must be able to take it with you.

Question 44

Can I export booking and customer data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. On the PRO plan you export bookings and customers to CSV whenever you want. And if you stop paying, you can still export them in one click from the lock screen. It's your data.

Question 45

Who holds the money and the card details?

Accepted Answer

Online payments go through Stripe and land on your Stripe account: Sealect does not hold your takings, it only keeps its commission. Card details are handled by Stripe, and we never see them.
